Victoria College Students Achieve Excellent A Level Results

On Thursday 15 August Victoria College Sixth Form students were welcomed into the Great Hall to receive their A Level and other Level 3 qualification results. Senior staff and the careers team were all present to offer support and guidance to the boys as they embarked on making the next important decisions about their futures, as were many members of staff to celebrate the successes with the students.

Prior to any potential uplifts seen through examination remarks and resits, Victoria College’s results saw an increase on last year’s A*-A% to 39.3%. The A*-B% also saw an increase to 71.0%, which was (discounting the grades seen during Centre Assessed Grades in 2021) the highest since 2017. For the third year in a row, both our students holding Oxbridge offers confirmed them with straight A*s, and we were delighted to see that currently 95% of our students seeking higher education have confirmed either their first or reserve choice universities, another increase on last year.

Headteacher Dr Gareth Hughes said, “Having known many of these students for 6 years, I am so proud to see them complete their journey at Victoria College and receive their superb grades today. These results are the reflection of a significant amount of hard work and endeavour; many of the students overcame personal challenges, showing perseverance and resilience, to emerge with qualifications that will pave the way for the rest of their lives. I would like to thank our supportive parents and diligent and caring staff, who have been the foundation on which these successes have been built.”

We will miss the Class of 2024 as individuals and as a year group, we thank them for all they've done as part of the Victoria College community, and we wish them every success as they take their next steps.
